Charting a way forward
Changing our society’s state of affairs does not require vast amounts of power only contained within the halls of political office or among elite foreign organisations.
At Tshani Foundation, we recognize the power of each other; staying in, and building community.
The Tshani Braiding School
The School, still in its infancy, offers practical experience, mentorship, and understanding of the wider beauty industry, emphasizing personalized skill development and entrepreneurship. The program embraces the woman, no matter her age, hungry to take up a craft, who aspires to build a career in beauty, particularly hair braiding and styling.
For over two years, the Foundation has been moulding and refining a twelve-week curriculum, that blends theoretical knowledge with practical experience in order to prepare participants for growth, fulfillment, and success in the hairdressing industry.
The Tshani Foundation
Haircare Line
Many African women and men struggle to find haircare products that fit the needs of their specific hair textures. For over 20 years, the team at Tshani Salon has not just braided and styled hair but they have also helped clients keep their hair healthy and strong. Over time, they have developed a unique understanding of the various textures and needs of African hair.
With this knowledge, we are developing haircare products safe from harmful toxins, designed to fit these needs. They are also in the initial stages of creating a range of styling tools and accessories to accentuate the beautiful kinks and curls of African hair.
